How Browniegod Invented the Custom Postal Brownie

Back in 2019, when we were hand-posting our very first brownie slabs, a packaging disaster sparked the treat that now defines Browniegod.

We’d designed dainty cardboard inserts so every brownie could sit snug in its own slot. Perfect on paper—total chaos in real life. The very first shipment ripped every insert to shreds, leaving 4,000 ruined dividers stacked in my bedroom.

With orders piling up and no budget for fresh packaging, we improvised: double-, sometimes triple-layering those flimsy bits just to get boxes out the door. Inserts vanished twice as fast as boxes, so one late night I stared at the leftover packaging and thought, What if the brownie filled the whole box?

The result was a single, fudgy postal brownie slab—a brownie big enough for any message or design you could dream up. You loved it. We built bespoke “slab” packaging, added next-day nationwide delivery, and it’s been a Browniegod signature ever since.

Then we pressed pause… and you noticed.

When we briefly retired the slab to focus on new flavours, our inbox exploded. Emails, DMs—everyone asked, “When are the slabs coming back?” Your persistence proved the slab wasn’t just a novelty; it’s the reason many of you found us.
